All the above questions and more are covered in this article on ‘Top 12 Reasons Why Creating An Online Store on Shopify is Awesome’.

Also, there will be a series of articles on how easily you can create and launch an online store on Shopify.

If you are looking at creating an online store, there are a number of options available online. From WordPress plugins such as WooCommerce, to BigCommerce, 3dCart, Shopaccino, Ecwid, and a whole lot more.

But by far, if there is a platform that I would confidently recommend to all my clients and audience, it will be Shopify.

Yes, when compared to WooCommerce, there is a cost attached to Shopify.

But when I consider the ease at which I can create a store, add products, collections, set up payment gateways, the integrations with social media, the available themes, and the apps, etc., (I could go on and on), I would always go in for Shopify.

And I guess one main reason for this, at least for me, is that Shopify is a hosted system. Or in more technical terms, Shopify is a SaaS – Software As A Service.

What this means is that you do not own the software. You subscribe to it or use it by either paying monthly or yearly subscription fees.

And how this helps is in, your setting up the systems, the servers, hosting, security, backups, SSL, backend, the daily running, and maintenance, etc., are all taken care of by the company.

And how does this help you? You can concentrate on what is important to you. And that is your core business. On driving more sales and conversions. And leave all the setup and backend to the experts. Well, leave it to the Shopify team! 😉

Just for kicks, over 1,000,000 businesses worldwide have their store on Shopify. And I guess, that’s a good number too to be convinced of how good a system Shopify really is.

While I will be having an entire educational series on setting up an online store on Shopify, I will mention the top reasons why I feel creating an online store on Shopify is just awesome.

Top 12 Reasons to Create an Online Store on Shopify

1. Affordable

Consider building your own platform, a self-hosted one.

You may contact a developer to build your online store, you start building a system from scratch, you spend time and money in building an online store, and at the end of all this, what if your store doesn’t perform as well as you expected.

Would it be back to the drawing board?

That is one huge sigh of relief when you do consider building an online store on Shopify.

You can build a full-fledged online store on Shopify by yourself. No developers required. Sign-up, set up the systems, select the theme design, add products, integrate payment gateway, etc., and you are ready to launch your online store on Shopify.

If you are looking at starting off, I suggest you sign up for the starter package – Basic Shopify plan.

The Basic Shopify plan starts at a monthly fee of USD 29/-. And if you ask me, this is really affordable considering you have a secure and robust system to run your online store.

You can start off with the 14 Day Trial Plan and then go ahead with the Basic Shopify plan.

The Basic Shopify plan allows you to add unlimited products. If you require the reporting system and third-party shipping rates, you could then consider upgrading your account. But to start off, the Basic Shopify plan should really do well.

2. Highly Scalable

Either you are starting off or scaling up. The system is robust and scalable to take up any amount of products.

How many times has your system cracked or let you down just before you were about to launch your store?

It’s happened to me.

And ever since I’ve migrated a couple of stores on Shopify for my clients, I’ve had a first-hand experience of how robust and secure the system is.

Scale-up without any apprehensions or doubts! 😉

3. Hosted Solution

As mentioned earlier, one of my biggest reason to favor Shopify is that Shopify is a hosted system.
